Turn the player volume down to 0 instead of muting it; it's remembered when jumping, changing videos and even when changing to another store page.
This is still only a workaround not a solution.
This is running from the problem and not solving it.
What if I don't want to keep wasting my time moving volume sliders between videos?
Because it's unrealistic to think people just want every video on Steam muted forever. But sometimes they do want specific videos muted and they want it to be as painless of a process as possible.
As I mentioned before you're still going to sometimes check if there's anything important being said and if there is even anyone talking period before muting.
If not, obviously the most user friendly solution is simply allowing the user to get rid of the audio with one click and instantly, no moving of volume sliders repeatedly between video and wasting time moving sliders to just the right spot and all that.
That is the purpose of mute toggles.
And if I want to keep that specific video muted permanently, it should respect my decision.
Part of me thinks this might be a money thing because this is just silly for muted store videos to keep unmuting when you move to another position in the video. But I hope I'm wrong.
I think I've said all there is to be said on the topic, this is common sense.
