Bigger character limit for reviews, up to 3,000 words
Can we please get an increase to the maximum character count for reviews? I just finished writing a 2,500 word review only to find out I would have to cut it down to 40% of its original length. I know it's really hard to try and implement a method where only real reviews get posted and we can avoid all off the spam and other crap, but please try. If Reddit and Facebook can have a format that allows those sizes, I think Steam can as well.

Yes, I'm so sorry for being such a naughty boy before. So glad that I was able to meet your standard of approval

Since when did the character limit drop from 8000? There has always been a bug with posting long reviews, though. Best to write the review in Word or such, create a one line review and then copy the text in.

I have a genuine question I need to ask you, can I message you? Not related to this.

I did write it in Word and copied it over. The section that I wrote was just under 8k characters.

Did you first create a small review on Steam, then edited that with the long text? Or did you copy it over and post it directly?

I made a brand new review and copy pasted directly from Word. Are you saying that I should have instead simply edited after and that would allow an increase?

I just tried it now and I can't get more text in, I am still capped at 8k

They're saying words... the limit is based on characters.
Which include things like spaces..

Though likely its a bug being encountered since the character limit is quite generous.

8K is the limit, yes.

Sometimes it bugs out and won't let people post reviews that long.

You need more than 8K character limit? Seriously? :lunar2019deadpanpig:

Sounds like you need your own blog if you can't reduce your thoughts into 8K or less.

edit: Seen some of your reviews. I don't have time to read all that.

I wrote a review that was 2,500 words long. If Steam would let me post it, I would force you to read it

I have a lot of thoughts, 8k is not nearly enough to express my unbridled hatred for the likes of Battlefield 2042 and Sid Meier's Civilisation 5.

Post in discussions, and mention that in the review for your personal fans.

Consider going the other way around and shortening your review.

People are far more likely to skip your review the longer it is. People don't like to read 'walls of text' (They're not only reading YOUR review but many other ones. The longer they stay at yours the less time they have to check others)
