I tried but they rejected me twice.
no one is owed a refund because they bought something that wasn't supported and then it stopped working on the unsupported system
Supported means that the company will help if problems arrive, in the form of patches and maybe tech support help. If a game works on Linux (and we own it) and the company decides they don't want Linux users to play it, then that is fraud without refunds. I played the game for 7 hours just fine and they basically stole it from me.
EA made a statement that they were doing this intentionally because they think multi player game cheaters on Linux can't be stopped.
You getting it to run on an unsupported system means the company owes you NOTHING if it stops working. Whether that change is intended or not.
And even Valve ends support for OS's. Only an idiot would think they would try and force others to force continued support.
Just ask all the windows XP users.
But hey buy a dictionary and look up the word fraud, you are using it wrong. They would have to have told you they supported it for it to be fraud.
Case in pont, Valve's own bread and butter CS2 dropped Mac OS support when it released.
The Windows XP argument is not relevant because it is an out of date OS with security flaws. Linux is more secure than Windows has ever been.
Mac OS has basically been a dead platform for gaming for years. Almost no one uses it for gaming. I don't think it is right but understandable to some degree. I don't even know if it is capable of modern gaming.
I can't run the game because the company decided to block its use, nothing about capability. You act like Linux is out of date like Windows XP is. Its not.
Because we both know they didn't.
Company was up front on what was required. Your mistake.
The system requirements are just a guide, they are not akin to the EULA.
Regardless of the lower player counts on Mac OS, it is still a perfect example of dropping support for an OS.
GTA V Online also dropped Linux support.
They are in FACT part of the advertisement and if you CHOOSE not to meet them, you aren't owed SQUAT when you don't meet them. It also points out you are bound by the additional terms linked on the store page, such as the EA eula which ALSO lay out they aren't liable if you don't meet the system requirements.
Neither Valve or EA is obligated to support your OS and Valve is very much not going ot try and force people to support linux. They are not in the business of forcing devs to do anything.
