Make the cooldown for steam families shorter

A year is such a long time i don't feel like it makes sense but i understand why its there. i think it should be shortened to 1 to 3 months so the cool down is still significant but not that long.

It's one year from when you joined the family. Considering you are kicked from a family after a year of joining it, you would be able to join a new one immediately. And you can always rejoin the last Family you were a member of without waiting for the one-year cooldown to expire.

Agreed, Two family members independently made separate steam families when they were first made. Now we want to merge them but it would take a year to do so. While I understand why a cool-down is in place, it is frustrating to have to go that long not playing the same games. I would understand if it was for 2 months, but for now this is frustrating.

If people hadn't abused the system in the first place, such restrictions would not have to be in place.

All is subject to change. The Family Sharing system itself changed over the times. However I don't see them shortening the time so much as to make it a month.
