Regional pricing needs to be introduced for more Eastern European countries
Dear Steam Team,

I can't stress this enough, for some unbeknownst to me reason, steam has only picked three Eastern European countries to have regional pricing [Russia, Ukraine and Poland]. That means that everyone else who lives in economically poorer countries, especially in the Balkans [cause a lot of those countries aren't EU members] like Bosnia, Montenegro, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania so on and so fourth need to pay the same price as people who live in significantly wealthier countries. Before you all get mad at me for bringing up this issue, cause it's been brought up by someone before, I must state that this is a very important matter! How are we expected to pay the same price as someone with an average annual salary which is at least double and in some cases even 9x bigger than ours? I urge steam and their team to be rational and implement this feature. Everyone in the Eastern European steam community would forever be grateful to you for this.

Sincerely,
Grey

if they joined euro their economy would plummet just like Greece's

Do you have data to backup that claim?

Just look what happened to Greece!

Out of the countries that I've mentioned only one has the Euro as their currency [Montenegro], I could also add more countries to the list that aren't in the EU and don't use the Euro, like for example Moldova and Belarus.

We can all name countries yet you ignored:

As for who does set the price:

https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/pricing

Partners on Steam are responsible for setting and managing pricing for their products.

Note: That is also applicable to other PC stores.

Example product:

The Outer Worlds - £24.99 Steam - £24.99 Epic - £24.99 GOG.

The Outer Worlds Spacer Choice Edition - £49.99 Steam - £49.99 Epic - £49.99 GOG.

Ukrainians pay:

£16.33 for The Outer Worlds a saving of 34.63%.

£34.61 for the Spacers Choice Edition a saving of 30.76%.

I do not see you complaining about UK citizens paying more.

Yes because the average salary in the United Kingdom is more than 3x higher than in Ukraine and Russia, of course video games are going to be more expensive in their region.

It's not that obvious. In Poland salaries are around 2x lower than in Germany, yet on Steam our recommended prices are 2nd highest in the world, higher than in Euro.

The biggest issue that Poland has in my opinion, is the fact that it's part of the EU and that it's economy has grown exponentially in the last 5 years, I understand your concern, and I do agree with you on the fact that the prices should either be equal or cheaper than certain EU member states, but that process as I mentioned in a comment earlier is slightly more complicated due to the bureaucracy that's present in the European Union.

A lot of publishers, especially big ones with their own stores have done that research already and if they felt differently could adjust their prices.
Actually some publishers do their own research. Sony doesn't use Steam recommended prices for Poland. They're still a bit higher than in Euro, but way closer than Valve's prices.

"Actually, let me just repeat the thing just you said, but ignore you actually already said it."

Complicated hemm... the avarage salery in poland is 1500 Euros/month in the UK that is 3400 Euros/month , in Germany the number is 4.600 euros - But besides Swizerland Poland has the hightst prices on steam ALL OVER THE WORLD....WTF man... and because i live here ... i'm sure it's not Steam but those guys working for steam in Poland.. Polish people love to milk there own... it's crazy.
Thats something different thought... Please give me 1 argument why Poland should have the 2nd most expensive prices on Steam IN THE WORLD

Then we should have prices equal to Euro, not 12% higher, because Valve is too lazy to update regional prices (last update was in 2022).
or let us choose if we wanna pay with Euro or PLN ..cause actually You can pay with both in Poland. Not very common but You can.

I never said that Poland should have the 2nd highest prices on Steam. I actually said otherwise if you check the comment you replied to. I just stated that the price inflation is a bit harder to adjust/control since Poland is an EU member state.
Agreed

I dont know why steam doesnt make a currency for Balkan countries that are not part of the European Union.

Like they made for turkey and argentina pricing. Where is ours ? We get legit scammed paying with Euros.
for example, the baldurs gate 3 is 60 euros, 5.5% of the average Hungarian salary (1054 euros), in Germany (4323 euros) it is 2%, and we are in the same region.
In Ukraine, an average salary is about half of the Hungarian one (close to 500) and you can buy a bg3 for 20 euros.
So germans get paid 4x more than Hungarians, but we have to buy games for the same price, and ukrainians get half the Hungarian salary and can buy games 3x cheaper.
it seems like a pretty fcked up system to me

Devs set the price. Not Valve. If you want cheaper games, ask the devs/publisher.

You clearly didn't read what I wrote properly.

As did you with not reading the other topics regarding this. Developers set their regional prices, you seem to be aware of this and in lieu of asking the actual game developers you are choosing to argue here and achieve nothing towards what you are wanting.
