Bumping this thread up - would be really cool to see support for custom controller buttons besides the ones standarized (a/b/x/y, dpad, joys, triggers and paddles).

It'd be enough for Steam Input to detect a custom button and then either assign a controller macro or a keyboard button press.

Absolutely should have. I bought the apex 4 but because of this issue. I'm returning it. It's such a shame as this is the greatest controller I've ever used.

Extra buttons should be easy to configure. I'm pretty mad with Rewasd, it works perfectly with my Vader 3 Pro but their shady practices and ridiculous anti-consumer policies are a no. No way I'm giving them my money again.

Steam would be so much better if it had a standalone mapping interface that wasn’t such a mess. It’s way too confusing, no one figures that out without digging through guides and that’s a huge fail.

It works natively if you use the Nintendo Switch mode via bluetooth
