Recording Overlay for a new Steam's rec feature

Sometimes, when starting the in-game recording, I forget that the recording is still turned on, and as a result, I get a 10-hour video clip. It also happens that I assume the recording is on, but in fact, after tapping the recording bind, it shows me the opposite — the recording wasn’t even on.
I would like to suggest adding an overlay — some kind of "red or green circle" next to Steam's FPS overlay — just to indicate whether recording is on or off.
