Copyright takedowns will be plentiful.
Never going to happen because as mentioned copyright issues, I'd rather Valve not get sued into oblivion. Also myspace died for a reason...
Then there is the annoyance issues. If you want to play music while on someones profile then use an music player on your own computer to do it. I don't want to go to some persons profile and be blasted by what they think is music, specially if I am already listening to stuff on my end already.
Is that why MySpace is still thriving and most websites have an mp3 player? That's a facet of the Internet long gone, and it's not coming back.
I don't think that's going to be convincing enough.
Game music is created by actual artists. And they not be willing to allow it. But it's not just a copyright issue, it's a design issue. Being subjected to noise someone else totally wants you to hear isn't something users are clamoring for. And there's not much point in adding a feature people don't want. It's just not 2003 anymore.
