"Auto-Update ASAP" feature

I'm not sure why the client works this way, but I have auto-updates for games turned on and I notice that it often schedules updates for days/weeks after they're released.

It defeats the purpose of auto-update because I end up doing it manually anyway (also would be nice for an "update all" button on that screen akin to the "clear all" on the same screen.

e.g. there is apparently a new patch for Foxhole today, March 30th. Steam is telling me the auto-update is scheduled for April 11th. What is the logic?

I would like an option for auto-updates to occur as soon as possible instead of according to whatever scheduling logic this thing is using.

There already is. Change the Automatic Updates settings on each game to High Priority.

They started this during the coof for load balancing.

Games that get scheduled farther out are the ones you play less. The longer you dont play a game, the farther out the update gets scheduled for.

Steam spreads out your downloads based on how frequently or how recently you have played a game. A game you play often and recently will pretty much update immediately. While other games that you haven't played in months won't updated until later. It just means the Foxhole game is one you haven't played much so Steam is deferring the download since your playtime shows its not a priority

If you want a specific game to update mroe quickly, right click -> Properties -> Updates -> Automatic Updates -> High Priority
