Scammers often change the name of a hijacked account to include fake ban messages. People should be able to remove them from their name history after recovering their account.
Ah yep, not to mention imagine if someone supported a political party then changed their mind and had a name that reflected that.
Alias is not a name and is not covered by GDPR.
Valve added the clearing of aliases back in Sept 2018, another thing for GDPR compliance.
Aliases don't mean anything anyways.
If alias was a name it would be called name not alias. Usernames are excluded from GDPR.
Take that button away and people will simply cycle away their old names, as they used to do before.
Yup! Bump the old ones out.
Just note in their activity log that they cleared aliases when they do it.
