Remove the automatic language localization filter on store
When you search games in the store with the client's language set to some other than English it will automatically filter out the games that does not have your language supported which only decreases the visibility of games and makes the search function worse.
- The filter should not be turned ON by default every time you search stuff

The issue is that the filter is turned on by default which affects a lot of other people who do not manually disable the filter and it causes the browsing for games to be a worse experience because you might not realize the filter is turned on. I personally keep the client on English so it is not an issue for me personally.

I mean that is how it should be. Its more beneficial to by default not show games in languages you can't understand because I guarantee 99% of people will not want to see them.

That might apply for NON English games and those should have some kind of other filter system then but lets say that if 50% of people in Europe or other countries keep Steam in their own language because they are too lazy to change it, they will have the filter on even tho they can speak English.

Not sure what nationality you are, but you should re-read that as I never made such a claim/

You should try reading again, those in Europe or other countries if they speak english when they setup their account would check off that they speak english and to show them games in english.

Again - https://store.steampowered.com/account/languagepreferences

If you put the languages you speak there you will have no problems. Whatever languages you select in your language preferences are searched by default in the store

Yes I read it again and edited right after sending the message my bad. I guess it would work if steam asked the user if they speak English when you setup steam even if you set it up for your own language. I had no idea that kind of setting page existed because it never offered me it

It does work, you just have to actually tell it what language. So take the 5 seconds to click the languages you speak and problem solved.

That is a far better solution then showing people games they wont understand and risking them buying games that aren't supported.

Ok so the solution would be for steam to send a 1 time popup for all users and ask what languages they speak and also do that same selection on the setup screen because most people do not bother going into settings to change that and some don't even know that kind of setting exists

I mean its part of the options and settings when you setup your account, if you skip it and don't go to that section then its an easy fix. Same way they have to set store region, profile page, email preferences, etc
