Add Uzbek Currency And Language To Steam.

Dear Steam Developers And Support.

Here in Uzbekistan we are suffering from low salary and bad economy. The salaries are even lower than Turkey and Argentina. Most of the people here go to Turkey, Russia, Yemen and Korea to work, it's hard to live here. Heck, lots of people can't even add money to their Steam accounts. The lowest salary in Uzbekistan about 32$, (13000 Uzbek Sums is 1$) that's not even enough to buy Call Of Duty MW. If we buy our dream games we can't fill our stomachs. We also want to play these nice games that Americans and Russians play. Just see the statistics, it's real, we Uzbek people know the truth and what's going on here.

Now dear Steam, I beg you to add Uzbek currency (UZS). Also please, Steam, add Uzbek language too, I'm the only here who has a brain to ask this. Most of the people here don't understand English. Please Steam, don't say no, listen to us, listen to our hearts Steam...

You know Valve doesn't add currencies to Steam as some sort of charity, right? Really leaning in how awful and worthless your currency and economy is might not be the big brain strategy you think it is. Not like it matters though I guess. It's not like emotional user pleas for their currency really carry any weight, or Valve is going to do it without an full understanding and is going to be tricked into making an uninformed decision.

While you wait hopefully, you might stop to consider why UZS hasn't been added yet. Why it might not be a priority. You might want to manage your expectations.

Regional pricing might not exist so 3rd world economies can buy games for pennies on the dollar. Some added currencies may be suffering from high inflation and now find their value worth pennies on the dollar. In a few cases I doubt those currencies would be added now, if they hadn't been added previously.

The last thing Valve and publishers probably want is a new region hopping destination. You really need to think how expensive the support you're asking is, and whether your user base really makes it worthwhile. Sometimes the answer is, no. It's not no forever, but right now, maybe not looking so good.


Although I do appreciate how five Uzbek users banded together to put on a show. All posted at nearly the same time, OP post is flush with gushing awards. I mean if that doesn't convince Valve, I don't know what will.

Although I am from Russia and have no relation to Uzbekistan, I fully support this initiative, well done, I will be glad if steam adds a language and currency, perhaps not everything is so simple and it still depends on agreements with your state

Well, we searched about some discussions, but there was only one and it was completely ignored, that's why we started ours, and I'm glad there some people who we don't know that are supporting us.
