Minimal Steam API/Command line client
With the rising popularity of Linux as a gaming platform and interest within Valve, I'd like to see the creation of some bare-bones Steam command line client or API daemon as an alternative for the fully-fledged Steam client. As a Linux user myself, I try to maintain consistent theming and have greater control of resource usage on my system. I'd prefer not to have all the resource consumption and graphical features of Steam, and instead just have a minimal text interface which can be queried to launch games, edit launcher settings, open a chat prompt, etc., all within the terminal. An API daemon could allow for fully custom third party clients, both graphical and text based.

I am aware of SteamCMD and existing third party front ends, but the former is not intended as a substitute and lacks a lot of QoL features, and the latter all require the full Steam client to function.
