Wine Hell a Wine Manager for Steam for Linux would go for the win.
Steam for Linux ,
Wine can work under Linux , just making a bottle for game Frag vs Clue etc can be a tedious ♥♥♥♥♥.
crossover Linux or wine works like a charm , however with the 50$$ Yr or so that's games i cant buy on steam if i pay it.

Playonlinux , it does work , it goes on with qt-wine & doors as add-ons to wine to make it easier. only big deal with playon Linux is offten it's DB and settings the French'y Frogs whom keep up with it seam to be at "la plage de nudistes" getting thier tan/swim on and perv on.
so many of the installer scrips for games and such are really dated.......
IE wget game,IE-7/8/9 .net_version(s) and direct x , fonts, run-times
and it will do all the chores of setting up a wine instance to run that game or app.
and 7/10 times at best 9/10 time to works on a lot of things. IE Skype for when Chrome/Firefox are blocked)
however Everquest , EQ Landmark Beta, FFXI /FFXIV RIFT etc,
as they update Playonlinux falls behind sooner or later. often its blisteringly sooner.

Steam-Wine.
yes Steam powered wine bottles.

Got FFXIV > presto it gets direct x sets it up wala
have home work to compile under Linux , cant reboot to windows just yet ?
Putting Wine on Linux with Deps & my windows games is about all I dont get with steam.

since I have crap to compile under Linux time to time , IE it's a variant of Gentoo, and I use it for Pen-testing it takes AWIIIIIIIIIIII-II-LLLEEE-UGHH, to compile a few dozen updated tools. want to get on with chums , n play the games while I wait.
