Downgrade for cs 1.6

Hey. I'm posting this here because I got told that the developers sometimes looks in this forum and they obviously don't look in the counter-strike 1.6 forum. This thread also contains an idea on how to get rid of my problem. I think it's a great idea and alot of players would rly appreaciate it! It can also be a great option if steam wanna make more patches on cs 1.6. When it's downtime as it is atm (17.04.2014) players could choose to play on the old version while the game updates.

Me and a ♥♥♥♥load of other peoples are looking for a downgrade for cs 1.6 after the recent updates the last year. I think the update that was in february made it imposibel to downgrade it to the earlier 2009 upgrade. The game is running much smoother and with less bugs on the old version and the physics also worked better before the massive change in the fpsengine.

It's obviosly posibel to play on the old version because there's alot of players without steam that plays on the servers. There's probably a reason for it aswell, because who wanna pay for a game that works better without steam? I atleast want the game i bought many years ago and not this crap that doesn't work properly. So all I'm askin for is a way to get the old 2009 version or older for cs that's workin with steam.

If it's not posibel to get the 2009 version for cs on steam can i atleast get a real answer on why the game got updated in the first place? I've been askin about the same in the support on steampowered aswell but the developers is obviosly not there either. I think it's a big problem that the peoples that work for steam got this much lack of communication. If you wanna make good games or improve games one of the first rules should be to listen to the players? It's atleast what I'm thinking. There's no reason to put effort into changing a game if players leave.

Thx for all answers and please don't tell me to start playing cs:go or something like that. I still think 1.6 is better but it was much better with the old version.

The deverlopers read these forums, but I've never seen one post. They read the threads to get ideas of what people want, and implement the ones that they think are good / they feel like implementing.

If the new version is buggy, why not ask for the bugs to be fixed?

It's not only about the bugs. they've changed the whole fpsengine and made it worse. I.O.W more lagg, fps drops and ♥♥♥♥ like that.

If you haven't seen any posts or threads about this I can make a quick look and see how many posts with complains i can find in the steam forums and with some quick searching on the worldwideweb :) Lets see what i can find in 5 minutes ^^

another crappy update from valve wtf !!!! such thing happened already some updates ago. and here we go again, just have to wait while they fix their stupid mistakes = its so not proffesional........

Counter Strike 1.6 fps drop after update
Hello. I have problem after my steam updating. My fps_max is set to 100 and gl_vsync to 0, developer 0. It looks like fps_max command doesnt works bcoz my framerates reaches values bigger than 100 and drops to 40 sometimes. Before update I had unchangeable 100 fps. Any tips for help? Greetings

New update is faked up? OpenGL Slow performance.
So let''s say i have been playing counter-strike 1.6 on steam with hours per day back to 2012-2013. Now after the new update on 2013 i had problems on jailbreak servers which i couldn't hear non steamers talking, that was fixed by re downloading the old cs and puting the folders to the steam one. After some time i got bored and removed cs after some great times, now i'm coming back into it and i'm having some serious issues.
First of all,
-(New update) OpenGL slow performance, i have a great pc but even the menu is slowly and laggy, don't ask about the game..
-(Getting old files) Many issues, you fix one and another one shows up. It's impossible to play with the old update to the current cs 1.6.

I've got just some normal questions which i want to be answered, how to fix the slow performance on OpenGL the new update, i've tried everything lowering stuffs and -nofbo aswell and why the heck Valve removed D3D? It was the best and the performance was just great, any way to get it back?

fps got screwed after the new update :(
Processeur: Intel (P) Pentium (R) CPU B960 2.20GHz (dual core)
RAM: 4.00Go
windowns 7 "64 bits"
Video card: Intel HD graphique 3000 2GB

with old pack my fps was 200 - 300
and now it's 80 - 100
seriously, I want to know what's wrong with my fps :(

HOW DO I GET 2009 PATCH WORKING AFTER 02/14 UPDATE????
Can anyone help me get my old cs back? After the FORCE update, i literally cannot do anything. I play surf mod which involves speedruns as well. With the new cs it is impossible to even complete the first level in speedruns:/
I NEED HELP.. ANYONE?

Cs 1.6 problem in game
The problem is when I play, it happens that when I move apartment and go faster after a hack to speed ... ping and fps are fine. With no steam i don't have any problems with cs 1.6....
I have 1mb/s Internet speed if help that...

Since the new update (the one in 2014), this is the error I'm getting in quite a few maps: "Loadtga: only type 2 and targa RGB images supported". Does anyone know how to fix this?

5 month ago? I played cs just fine about 2 weeks ago without crashing. This seems like yet another update that arrived in january in order to kill 1.6 even more.

Most of the complains have been in the counter-strike discussion and not here. Ppls has stoped complaining now and just quited because nothing is happening. Can't find most of the old posts.I also guess that they don't have gotten any of the complains from the support either. It took me 1 week to get an answer and they wasn't even answering my question the first time. then they told me about this forum. It think the support looks very unseriosuly...

I also know about ALOT of other players in my friendlist that's complaining about the update. Most of em don't even bother complaining anymore cuz nothing is happening.

First I would like to thank Smooth for taking the time to write all this to cover everything you want to say!

Following, yes, Valve has been making many consecutive errors, and makes us so tired about that. Why they keep changing an established game like that? We like CS 1.6 how it are ! Without the lasts changes !

Please hear us Valve ! Make an option/preference on CS 1.6 to back to old form !
Something like "Preferences>Use the old version", and give us more satisfaction !

mainly because the developers don't read the counterstrike hub. Now it also contains an idea by blue so i don't see a reason why it shouldn't be in this forum.

Well then why not leave a message directly to the developers, or some other form of contact? I know it must be hard when you feel the developers aren't listening to you, but it doesn't matter how vocal you are, your feedback will not reach the right people if you post in the forums here.
