Garry's Mod for Mac is Terrible.
I've had GMod for a year now, and ive been on a mac my whole life. These two facts conflict. I understand Mac is not the main OS for GMod, but neither is TF2 or Minecraft and they run fine. This is just PITIFUL. The game crashes every 15 minutes of gameplay, can barely handle any events without major lag, takes a VERY long time to load, and is just barely worth playing. Fortunately i love the game too much to abandon it, if that werent the case though, I would have sold it on TF2Outpost for a quick couple keys a LONG time ago. I run other games just fine on this mac, and it isnt old either. 8 GB of RAM, plenty of space, and a relatively new computer. Now in the comments, dont even tell me "Macs suk go windows macs r 4 hipsters" or "Macs arent made for gaming" I know very well macs arent for gaming, but like i stated earlier, with good programming efforts a Mac can run games just as fine as a pc, the issue is too many ignorant programmers alienate their OSX customers by barely paying any attention the the major problems with the OSX version of their program, Garry's Mod is a perfect example. I cant imagine how bad it is on Linux. Anyways, thanks for reading!

Are you sure your GPU/CPU can handle Gmod?

Hi, I've recently make my mac into a PC using bootcamp, and im here to say that yes, it does run bad.

I have a fair build for a mac and I've been looking at its CPU/RAM usage on low settings, where its not passing half its maximum. But on a mac, it so happens that the game runs poorly on startup, taking at least 5-10 minutes to start up and join a game, accompanied with crashing in a few gamemodes. However, most gamemodes do not crash too much, and you can at least get a steady 100fps at 1600p for my build.

If your OSX is crashing in all parts of the game, you should check your CPU or GPU, as jango stated. Otherwise from a slow startup and server join, you're right. Its not exactly the best port, I agree.
