re: sometimes new Steam library stops working, requiring Steam restart
Hello,
Once in a while, the Steam library will stop working, whereas the rest of Steam continues to work, and Steam will not detect and reload it like it sometimes does. Either the library display disappears or the display becomes corrupted. A restart of Steam is them required to get it working again.

If it's impossible to detect all these instances and restart the library automatically, at least add a button to reset the Steam library. A "reset library" button, to be used in case the library stops working. This would not be used often, but in case the library stops working, which does happen from time to time, this would reset the Steam library, avoiding a Steam restart.

I love the new library, but it's unstable and prone to crashes, even sudden crashes. Also, it can be slow, which could be fixed with optimization. For example, if I start typing the name of a game title to highlight it, I often have to try this more than once to get to the desired title.

Thank you

Prone to crashes? It crashed once for me, shortly after the new UI got released late 2019.

Sounds like an issue with the webhelper. Might want to delete the various caches and see whether nothing is interfering.

I tried that, and even had to completely reinstall Steam for other reasons, and it still had trouble. It's not often but I'll try deleting these once again just to be sure. Still, it seems like a library crash, not something interfering.
