Turkish Lira indicator for product prices in Turkey
I've heard that Steam is going to start using USD for product prices in Turkey. I get that the Turkish lira's exchange rate is all over the place, but I think it would be super helpful to have a Turkish Lira indicator next to the USD prices.

Right now, we have to do math to figure out how much stuff costs in Turkish Lira, and that can be a pain. A Turkish Lira indicator would make things much easier.

I hope Steam will consider adding this feature. It would make a big difference for Turkish users.

That might lead to confusion especially when what Steam is "indicating" will be different than the exchange rate charged by the Turkish banks. It might be perceived as false advertisement even though if it's meant as an approximate. Better to just leave it as USD.

The Lira is so unstable that it can change value on a daily basis.
Your idea would lead to game devs once again having to update their store pages on an almost daily basis.

Totally get the concern about confusion, but I think Steam could use real-time analysis to show a pretty accurate Turkish Lira price alongside the USD price.

They could team up with a currency exchange API to fetch live exchange rates and update the Turkish Lira indicator whenever the rates change. A disclaimer explaining that it's an approximate value would be helpful too.

I think the benefits outweigh the risks. A Turkish Lira indicator would be a great addition for Turkish users and make Steam more user-friendly.

People ignore disclaimers all of the time. We see this on a regular basis in the forums. So, no, a disclaimer isn't going to counteract any price confusion. And the risk is far greater than you might assume. There is a lot of legal scrutiny when it comes to displayed prices.

If someone needs to know what the current exchange rate is, it's never further than a quick web search.

They could even bookmark it so it's even faster to get to.
