Add a way to change the order of games in the library.
Let us change the order of the games in the library, plus maybe let us rename the games, because god knows some games have a terrible name when in the library. I'm sure this has been brought up before, but how are we at the tail end of 2023 and this is still not a feature? Surely this is not an insurmountable hurdle that Valve can't overcome right? Instead the only option is to resort to third party programs that work half the time, when Steam doesn't override it. Really puzzling.

Agreed. My standard screenshot why I want it: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1909125682

Though keep in mind that it's not relevant whether something is easy to do or not, or what the current year is. It merely matters whether someone at Valve is interested in doing it. And my screenshot is 4 years old by now, so that shows how little interest they seem to have for this.

There is a programm that allows you to change the display order of games in your library like you want it.
Tried it last year and it worked fine.
But the problem was that every time the client got an update ( which happens VERY regularly) it would reset the order again so in the end it was not worth the hassle to me.
Also cant remember the name of the programm at the moment, sorry.

Totally agree. But my thinking is that its implementation, at least to me, doesn't sound like it would be very difficult. Maybe it somehow is, I don't know as I'm not a programmer. But it is clear that at least some people would want that feature and implementing it would be a nice QoL feature and an easy W. But yeah, like you said, they don't seem interested in doing it for whatever reason.

The program you are thinking of is SteamEdit, which actually is the one I was referring to in the OP. Steam overrides your renames very often to the point of it being a huge hassle, so I gave up on that one too. A native feature just like that program or similar would be neat.

SteamEdit saves your edits and you click save on those edits with the last one being save and refresh. You only need to re-save the ones which are out of sync.

On my PC it is usually only Avernum: Escape from the Pit, Baldur's Gate 3 and Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition despite others also having an edit.
