When Will Mojang Create a Store Page of Minecraft on Steam?
Notch refused to do that a decade ago but the development team is now under the successful guidance of Microsoft, which is already enough of a reason for VALVe and Mojang to negotiate considering in what way Minecraft is leading to, it would only make sense to have it on Steam. It might even boost the playercount and it is profitable both by Steam and especially Mojang doubling the sales so they can spend more of it on the game tuning up its quality, everyone wins.

What are you talking about?
THat's not how it works.

It's literally just like hosting custom TF2 servers. If Valve sees those servers breaking their ToS, they can remove them.

Same with the bedrock version of Minecraft.

But the servers have no connection to the official Minecraft system.
They're all disconnected.
THe only connection is they play the game.
Period.

The only way Microsoft could do this if they bought every server hosting on the planet Earth.

Bro, the word "night" is banned, same thing with "Japan" because they have letters from the bad bad words.

You can get banned from SINGLE PLAYER for saying what Micro$oft says are the no-no words.

They could get the IP of the server and blacklist it. Why are you so keen to defend Minecraft?

They still have to agree to an EULA to host custom servers like the one in the article. If they don'e, Mojang and Microsoft have they right to force them to shut down from the public.

They are literally using Mojang/Microsoft tools to host the server on whatever hardware they personally use. It doesn't matter if it's connect to Mojang/Microsoft. They are using the code to create the server.

Yes. Everything he said was factual. Servers use Minecraft services which hosters and the people inside the servers can be banned from at any time.

Weird.
Really not how all this works.
UGH.

Sorry, but I still can't fathom how anyone is taking this like it's actually happening on a massive scale.
Again, really not how reality or any company ever worked in the past.
The law is against them, the world is against them.

Literally doing this should have immediately made them go bankrupt from the fallout.

It's one of my favorite games, for one, and B. THis is completely against all rules and no company is this stupid.

What rules? Never underestimate the good ol' 'tupidity. Also, "one of my favorite games" explains it.

Well, I mean rules in a general sense.
Like "Don't grab a downed high tension power line." :P
Or, "Do not stand in front of nuclear bomb when detonating it."

Microsoft are the rules.

Well, there's also the fact that Microsoft has never done this before ever, and no company can survive the fallout this will cause.
So, I'm really lost on all of this.
Like, none of this makes sense.

No, realize that Microsoft has the manpower to censor everything associated with Minecraft.

Sorry, but this doesn't mesh with how the real world works.
Weird and wild.
But Microsoft clearly does not have that much power in the planet.
And no one can claim otherwise.
They will be hit hard for this, and I can assure you, the fallout will be high.

The fallout is high in the community and I am disappointed in them doing things like banning servers with guns because guns are "adult content".
