Any PC running Windows 7 can run Windows 10. And you had almost a decade to upgrade for free. And i haven't found a game i can't run on Windows 11 i could run on Windows 7.
That includes games from the 90s, without the use of emulators of course, running natively. And no, the games were not updated for modern systems.
Not to mention you are several months late for the great outcry. That already happened. You can already see Valve's response. There was none. The plans are unchanged.
Lmao I've been here the whole time. And no while the OS "a literal downgrade" itself runs fine, many pieces of essential hardware can be problematic at best. If you can't find games that won't run on 8 or newer you haven't been looking at all. As for the rest of the systems mentioned, they all deserved the same treatment I am requesting for 7. And Valve should've been punished for locking them out as well.
So does UNO which i own on an Ubisoft account.
Seems to be something on your end.
How did I know that was coming? "Must be a problem on your end" should be a banner on steem's discussions/forums. I wasn't asking for help, I simply suggested keeping support for 7 or offering an alternative so that they don't screw millions of customers out of their purchases.
https://distrochooser.de/ <- take that test, there are Linux distros striving to look as much as Windows as possible to pick up users where they are coming from, like ZorinOS.
Free to interpret however you like lmao.
I have games and hardware that will not work, and I have games I play that will not run on linux regardless of distro... I know tons of others that have run into those issues. Just because you don't see it on your end does not mean it isn't happening to others.
Go ahead, prove every single one of those games work without issue... Even if you could "you can't" it doesn't make screwing 2+ million people out of their games right.
If they don't work, they lose their games. If they get locked, out they lose their games. Either way, they lose their games...
I've played 7/11 games you have named on win10/11 machines and had 0 problems with them. And I've spend a lot of time playing games as old as from 1998 on a windows 10 PC. I am really starting to wonder if people using working games as examples even know what they are doing. And the moment you turn "prove it" into "it doesn't matter if you prove it", this whole thread is a huge waste of space.
