Renaming Games in the Library
Why is it that we still can't rename our games in the library? There are still so many horrible grammatical inconsistencies and the only way to sort it out is very temporary and complicated. And it'd be nice to have the option to manually arrange the games so that it's not just alphabetical - I'd love to put certain series in order of release! When sequels use subtitles rather than numbers in their titles, the library becomes a terrible mess. Even worse when some games in a series have trademarks in the titles while others don't, or have colons before the subtitles while others use hyphens. Do not like. :steamsad:

+1 (see this is why I think the suggestion forum needs an upvote/downvote system btw)

Also, a way to organize the games would be great. I would like to be able to create folders in my library and organize games as I like
Yeah, that'd be handy. Here's mine: +1 :steamhappy: Anyway, I reckon at some point in the future steam's gonna have to implement some sort of organisation option. It's bad enough now, but with every new game released the problem becomes that little bit worse.
you can tag your games.
my tags:
Arcade, puzzle, want to finish, want to finish again, finished, co-op, old...
AND also I have an Xtrash tag... why X? cause it stays in the bottom of my list.

My games are already separated into categories - I'm talking about within those categories. Any franchise with games that use subtitles rather than numbers in their sequels is gonna get out of sequence - and most are inconsistent with their uses of trademarks, colons and hyphens.

With the ability to locally rename games, I could sort out so much annoying stuff! :steamhappy:
I could change...

'resident evil 4/biohazard 4' to 'Resident Evil 4', adding capital letters and removing the Japanese title.

Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY Edition -----> Batman: Arkham Asylum
Batman: Arkham City GOTY -----> Batman: Arkham City
Batman™: Arkham Origins -----> Batman: Arkham Origins
Batman™: Arkham Knight -----> Batman: Arkham Knight
Batman™: Arkham Origins Blackgate - Deluxe Edition -----> Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate

Then I could arrange them so they're in series chronology - Origins, Blackgate, Asylum, City, then Knight.

And so on and so on. It's like this for pretty much every series I've got on Steam. :steamfacepalm:
Plus, the occasional complaints about games starting with lowercase letters would stop.
Some titles are too long for my taste

This literally has exsted for over at least a year. The category system. I have a separate Resident Evil category, Call of Duty, anything that is a franchise or from the same developer, etc.

The only way I can see renaming being relevant is to keep all games in the same area when looking at the entire library - like Total War whose naming convention constantly changes.

I've been categorizing them for a long time as well, at least a year.
