Game repackaging

I think we should be able to repack games that we haven't installed and trade them as gifts. Steam tracks the install/play count so why not? It's not like someone is going to turn a profit on repacked games. Valve makes out on the deal and becomes a bit more customer friendly.

I know it has but I don't know why Valve can't continue to hear it. Maybe sir Gabe will find it in the warmth of his heart to do something we want...

Try not to activate games that you don't plan on installing and/or playing to begin with—they don't expire while in your inventory.

Most of the games sold during the steam sales will never be installed/played. It's not an issue of don't do X. It's an issue that a lot of people impulse buy and never touch the game afterward. So Valve made their money and now gamers are stuck with games they won't ever play. I know it's a bit "buyer beware" but why not make the situation better?

That sounded like a good idea, though ONLY the package that was bought will have that option, buying every single game that is in the package wont count.

At the time of purchase is when you decide if its a trade-able gift or you want it in your account. Not afterwards.
