The real way to combat cheaters in modern gaming.

There's a really simple solution to stopping cheaters, that companies just don't seem to use. that's HWID/IP bans. Yes, I know some people can spoof their IP, but doing it to a HWID is a bit harder and usually involves voiding any warranty your system has. It's also really hard to do for modern cheaters, since they're breastfed on a touch screen device.

Also, why don't people queued with a cheater get punished. A couple wins removed from their total isn't much of a punishment. People playing with a cheater should be punished as equally to the cheater, regardless of whether they knew or not. This way, not only does it prevent players from getting boosted by cheaters, it also makes them consider the types of players they queue together with.

There are a subset of devices that are used for cheating which is what being discussed and which as already confirmed by the developers are classified as cheats.
So following your "advice" would just result in people getting banned...

Your free to use the devices in single player, but they are not allowed in MP servers and will get you a ban

100% agreed.

First thing I'm telling everyone who complains about modiefied controllers, adapters or whatever - go buy one and play with it. You are NOT going to get any better with it.

Wallhacks and aimbots make even the worst players extremely powerful, gimmicks such as "programmable devices", cronus and co DON'T.

That's exactly the fallacy what those people fall for, they assume their opponents are better because they're playing with device XY, but the the truth is that they are simply better players, meaning they are more skilled, have a better game understanding, better movement etc. Hence why I don't consider any 3rd party stuff a problem, and my initial statement, which has been picked apart notoriuosly, still remains true.

There is nothing to worry about on consoles.

In the same sentence, you already answered your own question.... IP, MAC, HWID - all can be spoofed or changed. If they can download and use cheats, they can just as easily do that too - most likely it would already be a part of the cheat they use if there were ever any bans that used HWID...

when I said this, I didn't mean, just randomly get a cheater in my game, what I mean by this, is purposefully queueing with a cheater. Premades in the lobby.

we all get a cheater in our teams, and most respectful players, will attempt to kick said cheater. They're usually not queued solo, as to avoid being kicked.

Cheaters usually play in groups, if there's 1, there's more than likely a few more in the team as well. If a cheater is queued, no one is gonna vote kick them, since they'll most likely end up suffering the same fate they tried to impose on the cheater.

I abandoned MP gaming on PC years ago due to cheating, which sucked (CS was my fav game)...even coop, though from time to time I will do a coop game with someone I know, but never public.

Now, thanks to PlayStation I've gotten back into it and having a blast,
