you can find a HWID spoofer sure, but the chances it's actually what it's advertised as. I'd rather take my chances swimming with crocodiles.
The cheating community is rather low IQ. That's why they cheat, they lack a brain required for improving hand eye coordination in a video game setting.
On the contrary, cheat USERS might not have the knowledge to do so, but those who build the cheats themselves are just as knowledgeable if not more so then the game developers. Its a multi-billion dollar industry which is why you can't eliminate it and why the cheats adapt and change on a constant basis to deal with the steps to detect them.
Good way to kill multiplayer gaming, the majority of people aren't going to link an ID card to Steam in order to play a game. Not to mention the complexity and legality of implementing it is mind boggling.
Would be less damaging to allow cheaters then to implement that.
there's countries that already implement ID cards in their games. Example, korea does this with league of legends
Yep, now multiply that by 1000. The only way it will work is if the government sets it up and gives developers the means to do so. Something your not going to see the overwhelming majority of governments do.
Also Korea has actual laws making cheat distribution illegal, which again requires the GOVERNMENT to provide the tools, but it still hasnt stopped cheating over there.
I came to CS to have a fun time with mates, no lose to a bunch of dll/exe rejects
Oh sweet summer child.
M'dude if it can be read by software it can be just as easily spoofed by software. I mean you really just need intercept the request and send back a false but valid response.
I know it sounds suped complex but it's all in how you approach it. It also depends on which piece of hardwaree you're trying to grab the id of.
They're already downloading cheats. I don't think they're partuicularly concerned about data security. :P
Those who use cheats.. maybe. Those who create the cheats, that's a different story.
