I want a notification when games in my library are on sale.
I would really love if there was some type of notification when games in my library are on sale. I like to post anything I find on sale in Discord. When I find something new and unique in my discovery queue I post it, when something on my wish list is on sale I get notified and I post it, but I never get notified when any of the games in my library are on sale so unless I discover it by accident I won't know to post it.

Why does Steam post every sale in the store front, notify me of every sale on my wish list but won't notify me when a game in my library is on sale. It can't be that difficult to add that as an optional feature, turn on or off, because some people don't want to be notified but I would really like it.

Please consider adding this to Steam, it obviously can't possibly "hurt" game sales. :steamsalty:

Well, a very bad workaround would be to create an alt, then put everything you own on your main account in your wishlist.

I know, not a solution but at least it would work.

I appreciate that idea, I even thought about it but it seems to me from a "coding" standpoint Steam could implement something that just highlights somehow games that are in my library that are on sale. I've already purchased it so how does it hurt any sales numbers to let me know it's on sale even though I own it.

I just want Steam to help me share the sales.

The main reason Steam does not have the function is because game can only be purchased once per account.
If the plan is to get it for a friend or family member as a gift, have them put it on THEIR wishlist and have them contact you when it goes on sale.

I was looking for the same thing and found that isthereanydeal.com essentially does it. Account creation was very fast, and you can set it to prioritize steam specifically. Hope this helps!

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
