Stadia is dead: Google store credit to Steam wallet

A lot of people are complaining about their stadia refunds as it seems some people who bought games through google with a mix of store credit and creditcard, they are getting the full amount refunded to their google play store wallet.

Although Steam games cannot be bought through google store credit, perhaps Steam can make it able for people to fund their wallet with that credit, even with a loss of the margin google takes.

I’ve heard people got upset having hundreds and even more than a thousand dollars in google store credit which they happely are willing to spend on pc games, even with a loss.

Maybe a very unpopular idea for many, but it will help out those stadians.

Your Google store credit is only valid in the Google store, just like your Steam store credit it's only valid on Steam.
Google store credit is worthless here. Best you could do is ask Google for a refund and use that money to buy Steam wallet credit.

That's what you get buying credit in a store. It's locked to that store.

How would Valve / Steam credit you for purchases made on an entirely unrelated storefront? It's like requesting a refund on Ubisoft Connect be done with Steam credit.

Its not any different than you can't use google play credits on amazon, epic, gog or any other services

I think the problem is they the credit refund bug going around send the refund as google play credits which was the only way to buy games.

Think of the distinction like there are iTunes cards that are primarily for music or apps, vs like an Apple Store credit which gives you access to hardware. And let me tell you people still try a lot to buy MacBooks with iTunes gift cards
