Steam-Offer lower prices like Epic Games
I used to buy my games on steam because steam had discounts greater than 75 percent off. I don't see discounts greater than 75 percent off anymore on steam. Epic games also offers FREE games. This is also rare on steam. You are lucky to get a FREE weekend. Epic games is killing steam with a 10 dollar off 14.99 or more game. Plus you are able to use it more than once. I hope to see higher discounts and more FREE games on steam in the future.

Say it with me. Publishers set the prices.
Also there are plenty of +75% discountts... just not on the games you want.

A 1 time coupon may happen again. We don't know. At least it is something.

Also, Valve doesn't need to compete with Epic. Epic MUST compete with Valve. Let that sink in for a bit OP.

:qr:

Coupons are happening.

The Epic Games Store Holiday Sale is back! Discounts up to 75% off, 15 Days of free games AND limitless $10 Coupons until January 7 at 11am ET.

I meant on Steam. I already know about Epic.

So how is epic able to take a 10 dollar lost on each game? How can they be making money then?

They don't. They've stated multiple times that their Digital Strore is operating on a severe loss. But that is not their main source of income. It is more like a customers-grab to lure them over into playing addictive and long-term expensive games such as Fortnite.

75% is a lot's depending on the original price of the game

75% is always 75%
Sure on a $100 game 75% would be "saving" $75 but there is still $25 to pay. Is that cheap?

relatively cheap for most gamers that can afford a decent gaming computer that will actually run those recent AAA game being sold at 100$.

This sounds like a paid ad to me.

Anyway, there are sales throughout the year where even AAA games are 75%-80% off, and in many bigger sales you could use points to get a coupon.

Steam doesn't need to bribe Developers for Exclusivity.
Steam doesn't need to bribe users with free games.

Epic is trying to stay relevant other than Fortnite and Rocket League. Sure, I'll take some free games - but I'm not buying from Epic. A lot of people use Epic for that reason, which is not profitable unless people buy DLC or in game currency.

They're not a threat to Steam, and this conversation is nothing new and people try all the time, but Steam is not at all threatened by Epic.

Also - this is not a suggestion, so why is this even here?
Since it's not a suggestion, see this:

Of you don't like the prices on Steam, then complain to the publishers and/or shop on another store. You're free to use multiple stores you know.

Every sale I see plenty games with a deep discount and I see games with a good price. Might not be the gamea you look at, OP, but they're there.

They don`t. They even pay developers. Epic will never kill Steam. In the long run, Epic will just lose.

Good sale are gone, we have okay sales now so just make sure you purchase at a price you are happy with.
adz 21/dez./2020 às 2:29
epic store doesn't offer much anyways, alot of the games have come to steam and gog i think its a pointless store tbh.

steam always has sales.. in few days xmas sale for 2020 will be live.

I think steam has something to do with it. For example the new star wars game is like 24 on steam. You can get it for 14 on epic. This is a big difference. You would assume the developer would charge steam the same as epic.

No. Learn how things work. Epic is trying to buy customers and developers in a bid to compete with Steam while still having a meh platform. If you like it so much go there.

Guess what? you dont have to leave one to use the other. In fact there is nothing stopping you from using all the launchers at once. "learn how things work" then says if you like it so much go there. lol

He's making unfair comparisons. You can only get the game for 14 on Epic with the voucher. Without the voucher the game is 24, which is the same discounted price as on Steam when it's on sale.

He's either very ignorant or being intentionally obtuse.

Strange when i look at the special section(Sale) i see a bunch of 75% off and some 80%, and 82% off and even 90% off. And this just before wintersale. And it's the same every week.
Perhaps not the games the OP wants or already have, but the higher % sales are still there.
If you bother to look.

Midweek sales.
