Steam controller configuration: Bluetooth rumble/"extended report mode" toggle for PS4 and PS5 controllers.
From what I understand regarding how Steam supports it's controller configuration, it uses SDL2/HIDPI in the background for both controller configuration, as well as for it's Xinput wrapper that comes with the controller configuration, which is why when SDL2 updates it's source code, Steam also has a corresponding update that brings in the support added with the SDL2 revision.

With a recent SDL2 source update, PS5 controllers now have their bluetooth rumble/light settings toggled by a SDL2 flag that is automatically made false as a result of the corresponding PS4 flag, which disables rumble/enhanced reporting (for lights sand such) over bluetooth, namely because it breaks DirectInput games when set on. Presumably as a result of this change in SDL2, bluetooth connected PS5 controllers don't have rumble support through Steam anymore, and changing controller light options do nothing for bluetooth connected controllers, even if you power cycle.

While it's understandable why SDL2 has that set to be false by default, and why it requires the flag to be turned on by developers within their source code, Steam should provide an option within the controller configuration's "General Controller Settings" section that allows you to turn on or turn off that feature manually, similar to how that section offers support for toggling other options that are presumably supported through SDL2 flags.

(If Steam does not use SDL2 for this purpose, then I guess this post points out a bug wit the controller configuration, as PS5 controllers have no rumble with bluetooth, and changing light options don't work with bluetooth as well)

I'm having this very same issue with my Dualshock 4 over bluetooth since the beginning of february. After a Steam client update, the lightbar and rumble stopped working over bluetooth dongle. Over USB connection it still works. I'm using Windows 10 Pro. I agree Steam should let the user decide if they want this feature turned on or off.
Same story. Very frustrated that it is still broken.
