The words weeaboo, weeb, pedo and pedophile should be censored globally.

I've seen too many people use these terms in a derogatory fashion. It seems that steam users cannot handle themselves appropriately without being complete jerks to users that play japanese or anime games. These words should be censored globally including in game discussions and not just on the main forums.

Until steam users as a whole can handle themselves more appropriately and not be absolute jerks to other users for no reason, this change should be permanent.

Also queue the incoming steam trolls cause i know its coming and i don't care.

Personally, I don't understand the hate against Anime. I am certainly not by any means a fan of Anime but that doesn't mean I hate it or wish it banished from this earth.

That being said, I for one, am also not a fan of censorship in any form, so do not agree with the main point of the OP. Censorship sucks. It is up to forum rules and the moderators enforcing those rules to determine what is and is not appropriate for a particular forum.

Whats even sadder is when your at work or college and someone is like "why you watching porn" because schools and parents are teaching children all anime is porn :| which is just plain sad as there is definitely a difference between anime and hentai. Whats really f'd up about this logic is: Wouldn't that make pokemon, yugioh, digemon, one piece, naruto, bleach and various other shows kids watch porn as well?

In any case sure i hate censorship but i'm tired of all the bashing and the trolls. It's not fair to the consumers and nor is it fair to the people who make the games.

The main problem is we have people who think their moral is better than everyone else's so they decide to attack others for it which is just wrong.

It's not about the anime...you guys it's really not. It's annoying as ♥♥♥♥ when I see a weeb misuse japanese words. You baka gaijins know nothing of nipponese culture. I can trace my samurai lineage all the way back to Lu Bu.

I have yet to hear an instance where a school taught kids that anime was equivalent to porn. Every single one of my high school and middle school teachers actually watched anime .-. one was even a vivid Final Fantasy and Naruto fan and would buy and bring me posters and stuff from Comicon and ♥♥♥♥.

It's Japan that is ruining their own image in terms of how anime is portraited...have you watch the ♥♥♥♥ that's been coming out for the past 5 years?

I think the problem with anime is the extremists give it a bad name and that just sticks, I'm not a fan of anime by any stretch of the imagination and I've only ever seen a few clips... Just gonna say this. There are some really weird crap i've seen on youtube of people acting like they have anime powers and ♥♥♥♥ (like in the anime chinubyu, sorry if i spelt it wrong), stuff like that is taking it too far and i agree is weird. Thank god i have never once run into a person like that in real life. But using japanese words in sentences and stuff i don't really care about so long as its "used in the right context" (can't really speak for myself as i don't always use things in the right context).

But aside from that seriously the lack of respect for those that watch or play something even a little related to anime has got to stop, it's becoming a nuisance and is just plain saddening because it makes the attacker look stupid and makes the people who are being attacked feel bad when they have done nothing wrong (unless again you act like those youtubers but meh).

If you assume people stop offensive behaviour because you censor words (which can always be bypassed) you should think again. Just because you feel hurt doesn't mean specific words should be censored globally. If you can't handle the open space, consider creating closed spaces were stuff like this does not happen. I'm not sure who you want to adress with your "idea" but I don't see how it'll help in any way.

As far as the bypassing i can always report those that bypass the censor its not that hard? I couldn't give a damn what others think of me since they don't know me irl i'm just tired of people throwing derogatory words at people and tryng to pass the ♥♥♥♥ off as a joke when they get caught for it. I can handle open spaces quite well. My issue is that the rest of steam can't (blanket statement). It will help the steam community be less cancer whether the community members like it or not.

Censoring a word would not solve the issue....the issue lies within society. Attitude towards particular groups is the problem that censorship won't fix
