The point of logging into your account is because you know it is you doing so therefore only you have access. With a quick switching option it is only viable if you are the sole user of the PC.
Storage of extra stuff you don't want to keep on your main account.
Having different accounts for different kinds of games.
Second account is that of a child or a loved one that you need access to every now and then.
Second account for when friends/family come over and you want to play certain games together.
Lots of legit reasons to have 2 accounts.
You may want to hide those Adult games or you may have created a second account to stream etc.
Secondly Valve knows you have alt accounts.
Try a password manager. I have both my Steam accounts stored in mine and I can just have it auto type the username and password in. Then it's just the Guard code that's required
could reutilise some of the family sharing security.
say, if you're signed into account A on a computer, you can grant permission to quick swap to account B on same computer.

With gaming cafes being a thing, Valve stopped allowing the easy quick switch method using Big Picture years ago when people had their accounts hijacked because it didn't ask for guard codes.

This should be by default in steam client. If it's possible with scripts that means Valve has no issues with it but why not make users life easier and incorporate it in the client?

2. bigger inventory space without needing backpack expanders
3. starting fresh achievements
