Gift pack anomaly / ridiculousness

Bought Tabletop Simulator - Great, loved it. I`ll buy a gift pack ( 4 copies ), to give to friends and family. Nope. Can`t do it, because I have a copy of TTS installed. Gift packs have a copy for the purchaser and 3 for giving. Duh! So how do I try it out and then decide I like it and give it to friends ? This is like no brainer stupid, a gift pack is for giving, why not a flag to say `is this all a gift or do you want to install one yourself`. I mean it`s not just a hassle for me it`s also bonkers business as now i haven`t bought it and actually probably 2 and I`ll just let the friends family join as they see fit, but some won`t and wouldn`t play unless it was presented on a plate, or wouldn`t consider it worth it, as they would only play rarely. i`m late in to this community, so it seems very odd that this hasn`t been flagged before and amended, as it makes no sense whatever to me on all fronts .............

Gift packs are dead and not being used anymore. Only old games even have them as an option so it's not going to be changed.

They were designed that way so people can't just buy the packs to resell.

Buying 3 copies is the same price as the 4 pack.

Seeing as a the 4 pack is one copy for you and 3 gifts and you already own a copy, just buy gifts for your friends/family one at a time.

Bear in mind the gifts have to be given to existing Steam accounts at the moment of purchase - they can't just sit in your inventory.

As Brian said, they had to really tighten up the rules on gifts because certain people used to try and run a business reselling games for a profit.

Can you buy the gift pack as a gift and send it to one of your friends/family with instructions to who the other 3 copies are for?

thanks guys, that makes it a little clearer to avoid profiteering. It is a shame that something like this gets abused and then dropped. Thanks for replies.
