Fix Year in review badge

The badge should unlock for viewing your Steam year in review, but for many the badge pops up out of nowhere. This badge started in 2022 and has been bugged since, people have complained about it in the forums and to support... but nothing

I haven't checked my year in review and I have this badge. How? I went to edit my profile, changed summary and the badge popped up

It'd be nice if from now on the badge really unlocks for viewing your Steam year in review instead of getting the badge no matter what you do

They should just scrap achievements entirely. It's some weird console-thing. It cannot be fixed, because it's just inherently stupid. They should take a very good look at this thing, and then start over from scratch. And create functionnalities for Steam that people actually want, and that they had in the past. Not remove all the useful functionalities, and add useless ones.

It has been brought up hundreds of times, and it was never fixed. The discussion was just locked, and people had to move on.

Your post still has nothing to do with the thread. The thread you linked is also talking about the year in review badge. You are ranting about achievements which has nothing to do with the topic.

You are correct. But this badge is especially irksome, because it tells you something like: "Awarded for viewing your replay," when you hover your mouse-cursor over it.
But you didn't even watched the replay! And who is this "you" it is referring to? You, or all the other people who view the profile? It's just a confusing mess.


I know this is a silly thing to complain about, but it's the general principle of having stuff on your game account that tells other people confusing nonsense that didn't even happened...

I accidentally clicked the Year in Review button instead of Inventory and got this lame ass badge. Last year, I didn't even do anything, it just gave me the badge somehow. Like, bro I play like 3 games I don't need to know all that bs.
