Global play parties for older games with incentive to participate?

Would be great to have some events prompting people to play older games. Every weekend could be a new game with double collector card rewards for playing. One weekend L4D2, another weekend Borderlands 2 and so on.

for sure, in general it would be way more complicated than what I have described. But I think many developers would love to

Go ask the game devs in the games discussion area to do that. Thats not up to Valve to run anything like that for any game they don't own, which is 99.99% or more of the games on Steam.

If you think many would love to... well they already can run free weekends, or give stuff away for playing their games. So again go contact them in their discussion area, Valve is not going to run it and Valve is not going to send your idea to them. YOU and others have to convince the game devs to run something like that.
