If they don't want to build it, there are system builders people can use if they want it built & shipped to them. mITX is the form factor you'd want if you want a console-like amount of space taken, and cases for that sometimes includes handles for transport.
A Steam console is going to cost just as much as a PC.... because thats what it is, its just a PC. Heck thats all the Steam Deck is, its just a hand held PC. Prebuilt PCs are a thing, just look them up, but they are usually more expensive then building it yourself.
Valve tried in the past to go with putting their stamp of approval on prebuilts but it ended up with over priced and under powered machines. Look up Steam Machines.
If Valve built their own, it would just end up being more expensive than the prebuilt PCs out there because they would have to build up stock, have a place to put all that stock, have people build them and so on.
Just remember, the smaller you go, the more expensive the parts are going to be, specially if you want a machine thats powerful enough to play the latest games on ultra settings, RTX on, at 4k.
as for trying to find a real option now i would be looking to build.....but you dont want to so.....there are many half way good prebuilts being sold off now as they have been sitting for 2 years or so in a lot of cases.....
real option 1

something like this with a i5 12400f and a 4060 with 16gb of memory and a 1tb M.2.....750 clearance as its 12 series....is it the best NO....can you build better with the money YES but out of all the prebuilt garbage its hard to find a diamond and this one could shine.....at least at 1080p and with the games you listed......(just keeping it real)
DON NOT BUY FLAMING PILE OF BAD PC PARTS STINKY NUMBER 2

many out there are like this pile of garbage^^^^.....way over priced for what your getting and a real waste of money.....this PC wont give you much more then the 750 dollar PC listed at the top and its 1149 "on sale" HAHAHA.....the sale part is funny to me.....yes the cheaper PC is DDR4 VS the 1149 being DDR5 but the CPU difference will never show the better memory in gaming.....and the 4060 stock VS the 4060 TI proves the TI should never have been made......

real sweet spot given pricing and just the crazy PC market option 3
this^^ PC is running kinda what many believe to be the base line specs wanted now.....13400k single stick of 16gb DDR5 that should be upgraded to 32gb, witha 4070, 1tb M.2 and a 650 watt PSU.....its 1099 on sale....its a better value then most i have seen in months.....
good luck look around and make sure any thing you buy can be returned....also learn how to stress test PC's by watching youtube videos and test the hell out of the system before you let the return window pass......
Don't look at just one place like newegg, look at a bunch. A few of the pc builders out there actually have sites that will ask you questions when trying to put a system together to help figure out what you need. Asks what you mostly do, what kind of games you play and stuff like that. There are even a couple that sell the parts for retail prices and only charge 75 to 100 bucks or so for putting it together.
Also since you don't want to build, stick with air cooled machines and not water cooled machines because sooner or later you'll have to put the water cooled one apart to clean the liquid and any gunk that might have built up. But with an air cooled machine, take it outside, make sure the fans are held in place and then blow it out with some air. I take mine out twice a year and blow out any build up of dust.
Heck if you live in the US and you are near a microcenter you can order all the parts and have them put it together (I think for a small fee) (and no I don't work for them or even been near one)
My very first PC was a store bought.... it was also my last store bought. And that was quite a long time ago. After that I built all my own PCs. Course 3 days after I had bought my system, I had it apart on my bed.... never could figure out where those 3 screws went, but system worked fine.
