Do better testing of new games on Steam Deck, so they get actually accurate compatibility statuses
Recently, like many Steam Deck owning Life is Strange fans, I'm sure, I pre-ordered Life is Strange: Double Exposure Ultimate Edition, expecting to be able to play it early when it released yesterday. I wasn't too surprised to see an "unknown" status on the store page all of the time up until yesterday morning when I checked. At that time, I was horrified to see an "unsupported" status, which indicated you guys had actually tested it and found that it just didn't work on Steam Deck. I submitted a complaint/question to support that morning. Later, I was reading the Steam community forums for the game and found a comment from a person saying that it actually runs just fine on Steam Deck, using Proton Experimental. I immediately installed it on my Deck (despite the warnings of non-support), and tried it with Proton Experimental myself. Turns out, it works nearly perfectly! Just very minor graphical glitches here and there, and so far just 2 crashing bugs. But, it sounds like these might be common occurrences even on regular Windows PCs, and are just a result of early unpatched game code, not any actual issues with Proton/Deck. But, it's perfectly playable on Steam Deck, it turns out! Despite your claim otherwise on the store page! Worse yet, when I received a response to my support inquiry, after having already played the game successfully for over 5 hours, the support person continued to claim that the game was completely unsupported on Steam Deck and told me to get a refund. Are you people just opposed to making money?? Are you trying to drive people away from buying Steam Decks or games to play on it?? I just fail to understand how you make such a horrible mistake here. It's clear you simply never actually tested the game on Steam Deck! Certainly not with Proton Experimental, if you did at all! I would think you would want to increase the number of Steam Deck owners, by giving them more supported games, and in turn sell more games to Steam Deck owners who want to play them. Your actions in this case are completely counterproductive to that goal. You should be doing actual testing of all new games on Steam Deck (utilizing Proton Experimental, in addition to the newest stable version), and accurately listing the compatibility status before release. Not just making up incorrect statuses that scare people off. It makes me wonder how many other "unsupported" games really work just fine now...

Do note if a Dev marks it as unsupported, that is up to them as to if they tested it with a Steam Deck, or if they just hit "Unsupported" because they didn't know so they just chose it. Dev is responsible for the accuracy of the information for their Store Page.

Since the game is in advanced access there aren't yet any reports on how the game runs on ProtonDB, but if you want the rest of the userbase to know that the game runs fine, you can submit a Steam Deck report there:

A lot of people use ProtonDB ratings rather than the official store ratings for Steam Deck/Proton compatibility, because it is more actively maintained by user reports.

Though I expect Life is Strange: Double Exposure to receive plenty of reports as it progresses through advanced access. Store ratings can also change during that time since it would not benefit the devs/publishers to downplay its play-ability on the Steam Deck.
