Steam badges
I wanted to make a comment on the Steam badges.
As we all know, there are 2 unlockable badges per game, namely the 5-level "classic" badge and the single-level FOIL badge.
Up to this point everything is ok.
The problem, in my opinion, arises when you decide to unlock / get both badges ("classic" and foil)...
If we get the 5 levels badge, it will be shown in the game within the showcase or in the recent activity.
On the other hand, when you unlock the foil badge, on our Steam profile, in the showcase of our favorite games or in recent activities, only the foil badge will be shown and the 5 level badge will be hidden, a real shame.
This in my opinion is very frustrating and sad...
I would prefer to be able to choose which of the 2 badges to show in the game (in the "favorite game" showcase or in the recent activity), or alternatively that they are both displayed... In the end we spend money on both, why do we have to hide 1?
Also, the fact remains that sometimes the foil badge can be uglier than the level 5 badge for personal taste, but the love for the game still leads you to have both and the fact that only the foil badge will remain visible will make you regret spending money to hide the most beautiful badge (often if you like the game you want to have everything, even the ugliest things... almost like a collection).

In short, my proposal is to make it so that you can choose which badge to show inside the game box or that both are displayed.
Perhaps this solution could also lead players to spend more willingly to add the foil badge to their game.

I hope I'm not the only one who thinks so :)

Steam badges are the medals you can get in purchased games. Let me explain, if you buy a game or if you make a purchase for a free-to-play game, you have the option of collecting cards. The more time you play, the more chance you have of getting cards up to a certain number. Once you have obtained the cards you can create the medal / badge related to the game. Attention you cannot unlock all the cards by playing! I'll give you an example ... Let's pretend that the game asks you 8 cards to make the medal, you can only unlock 4 (sometimes duplicates come out so instead of having 4/8 you will have for example 3/8 + 1 duplicate) and the rest you will have to buy (the number of cards needed to complete the medal varies from game to game). For the classic medal there are 5 levels available, this means that you will have to recover all the cards each time to do each level. So returning to the example above if you need 8 cards to complete the first level of the medal, you will need 40 to do all 5 levels but remember that you will unlock at most half of the first 8 ... The rest you will have to buy it or exchange it.

I hope I explained myself. However, all data relating to the amount of cards obtainable and necessary varies from game to game!!

I think they see it as badge upgrade instead of multiple badge. Foil badge is the highest cosmetic upgrade.

The seasonal badge for example have up to 20 designs. Each design adding just slightly more detail. A player could display 20 badges in profile if it's not about upgrading.

However the designers have create unique and different look for each badge upgrade and making us want the ability to select the level of badge we wish to showcase. Hopefully Valve can look into it. I feel the chances are small to none because it means fewer badge sales. The system is designed to make people want to upgrade, got bored of the highest level and start all over with another set. Although I wish to have it too, I think there is higher chance for them to introduce a delete option than to allow a badge level selection.

Ok that the foil badge is considered "rarer" but it does not cancel the 5 level badge ... that is, it is not one level more than 5 level badge so it would be nice to be able to see them both. I personally regretted doing this on a game because I liked the 5-level badge more ...
