Steam profile colors

Give us the ability to change the steam profile color from a boring, plain ol' blue to other colors!
Edit: I do not mean custom colors, I mean preset color schemes, but many of them.

The ugly blue block, it is just an eyesore.

I would also like to point out that this is JUST a color change, it would not affect the steam interface outside of your profile/status, unless you installed a custom theme from the internet.

I much prefer the uniformity in profiles, no disorientation when going from one profile to another. Maybe you're too young to remember, but MySpace let you control the color of everything, and it was... not pretty, to say the least. Right now, Steam offers plenty of ways to customize your profile; if you're really dissatisfied, make your own webpage and direct people on your Steam profile there.

I said many times, PRESET. it would not let you change the color of everything.

I'm guessing there are two ways presets can go. One, they can be neutral, bland, and match the general tone of the current color scheme; this wouldn't really allow for personal expression, just slight customization. The other option is that a variety of bright, cheery colors are added, which leads to profiles that are irritating to look at (especially going between profiles that are bright, clashing colors). More importantly, it's a feature that would impact a very small portion of Steam's userbase in any meaningful way, and there are more important issues for Valve to be working on.

This is the suggestions section, this is one of many suggestions people have made. and yes, there would be conflictions of colors when you switch from profile to profile, but thats not important, it's allowing the owner of the profile to express themselves, and you saying "well, its not very nice to look at" doesn't change that. it's the exact same as people changing their background on their profile or profile picture, some can look bad, but that's not their problem.

If that's the only thing that changes, then I'd defo +1.

Hm, if it's not too much to ask, could you make grey, dark grey, and dark red ones?

To satisfy all those who like personalisation and who don't it could be done as in some services where this feature already exists.
You can choose an option and looking through other profiles you can see them all
- as standard
- the same way your profile looks like
- or the way a user customised it.
I think, this should help both sides...

No, this is what should NOT happen.
If that would happen, nobody would be able to express themselves, difference may not be the prettiest thing in all cases, but its important.

Then what we have is enough to express yourself. Find other ways to do that.
Thinking about those who want to express themselve and not about another side is not good as well. Give the power to one side and have to do that for the other - who do not care about your colours and other stuff...

It's exactly what should be available. Too many colours, changed fonts, etc. will look like fckn myspace, and that's horrible. Just the outline colour change is fine. Anything else no way.

Please, read the above posts.
PRESET. COLOR. SCHEMES. Made by valve, NOT players. no font changes, no overdoing it, just a few colors to replace the ugly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blue :p
