Achievements for Assassin's creed series
For many gamers, achievements are more than just little digital rewards—they’re milestones that mark our progress, challenges, and unique experiences in a game. Collecting achievements can be a motivating part of the gameplay experience, and let's be honest: there’s something satisfying about watching those notifications pop up, showing just how much we've done. But here's the issue: some of the major Assassin's Creed titles on Steam don’t have any Steam achievements at all.

If you’re a fan of the Assassin's Creed series, you might have noticed that Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and Assassin’s Creed Unity lack achievements on Steam. Whilst some titles - odyssey, origins and now mirage do have them? That means no achievements to track your progress, no challenges to hunt down, and no completionist goals to shoot for on this platform. What's odd is that achievements are available for these same games on other platforms—just not on Steam.

For me (and I’m sure many others), achievements add a lot of replay value. They push us to explore the game more thoroughly and take on challenges we might not otherwise attempt. Whether it’s unlocking a rare weapon, finishing all side missions, or defeating the toughest enemies, these moments are part of what makes gaming so immersive. With achievements missing from some of these Assassin’s Creed titles on Steam, it can feel like something's missing, especially when the achievements are accessible on other platforms.

So, I’m curious—do you agree that Steam should add achievements for these games? And, if you play on Steam, do you find it frustrating to have certain titles without them, even if they’re available elsewhere?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Are achievements a big part of your gameplay experience, or do you think they’re just a nice extra? Drop your thoughts below—maybe we can show Steam and Ubisoft just how much these features mean to the community!

Valve can't add achievements to a game that is not theirs. Go complain to Ubisoft.

No I don't agree with word salads asking for Valve to interfere and add content or rewards for games that are not their own. Achievements are a meaningless diversion that devs use to prolong engagement with their game. Always have been and always will. Therefore it is only the responsibility of the devs to decide what kind of additions are brought to their game. If anything, Valve should implement a way for people to completely remove all achievements and any references to them from a game as most people really don't care about them.

For those that do, a spreadsheet with a list of goals one comes up with for oneself works just as well, just like it did in the good ole days.

Why do some of the titles in the series have achievements then because I'm pretty sure valve doesn't own any of them?

It's not a matter of as per #2/#3 "won't" but of as per #1, "can't".

Unlocking a Steam achievement is no other than the game calling into Steam to do so when the achievement's stated conditions have been met. If the game doesn't do said calling -- it doesn't do said calling. It's fully part of the game; fully up to the developer and not Steam.

Because Ubisoft was bothered enough to put them in there. But they stopped doing that at one point, probably as an incentive for people to actually buy them on Ubi Connect.

Game devs are responsible for adding achievements to their games. If they don't want to for whatever reasons they have, that's their choice.

Because Ubisoft added them to some games, each developer can decide if they want achievements or not so you'd need to ask Ubisoft

Why are achievement hunters so obsessed with Ubisoft I wonder...

Either ask Ubisoft to do that or vote with your wallet. That's all you can.
Its Ubisoft you need to be asking, not Valve.
Go make a post on each of their games and ask them.
I did it already for a few, but that was months ago.

Yeah, they were added on the 8th of October. Probably because the community gave so much grief to Ubisoft about it. People were making negative reviews just because of that.

take a piece of paper, write down some achievements you make up, then do it ingame and cross out the ones you complete.
