May We Ever Please Have No Steam Launched For Solo Offline Gaming?
I know some game corp. may request it but I don't see the need for certain games if you are not looking to meet up online with other players.

Just for example Cyberpunk 2077 can be launched without Steam but they clearly made a distinct and separate deal for that.

It's always the developer choice if a game requires Steam or not to launch.

Blanket bot. (Also this does not address the corporate question of "may" which is probably "no".

Valve didn't make a deal with CDPR. CDPR just doesn't use any DRM as it was their own choice not to.

Apparently you don't actually want an answer given your knee jerk reply towards the first response. The correct answer, already given, is that a game does not necessarily require the use of Steam's client to launch unless that game's devs have decided to incorporate the Steam DRM. There are games sold on Steam that does not require Steam to launch. No backroom deal to allow for that. The games' devs allowed for it.

I'm not convinced that you're rationale. Or real.

The correct answer is that you're steadfast and blanket angry answer has been placed.

I just want to (currently) know why (for example) (while I'm fighting bots) is why I can't load NMS without loading steam when all I want to do is play offline.

Ask Milton why he requires his game to need Steam, not Valve.

Because Hello Games incorporated NMS with Steam's DRM.

Ok thanks Steam support. All my questions have been answered for all time. Never pay you a cent again. Got it.

NMS is available on the GOG store if you really want to play it without a client. Although GOG Galaxy is still required for the online features

You were told the answer already... because the developer/publisher wants to use Steam DRM. Valve does not force game developers to use Steam as a DRM. They can go DRM free, as you were told already.

Also if you expect a different answer because you want to insult others by calling them a bot just because you got a response you don't like, well thats just too bad. This is the user DISCUSSION area. If you don't want to DISCUSS your idea with other USERS then post your suggestion and unsubscribe. Steam support will not respond to your suggestion here, only users.

But again the answer is not going to change. Developers/publishers decide if they want to require Steam or be DRM free. Valve does not force them to do it and they will not force them to not do it.

If you want a game to launch without the need of Steam, the go ask the developer in the games discussion area. Also I would suggest not trying to insult them when you are given an answer you don't like, because I have seen game developer ban people for less and Valve won't unban you.

Again, why launch with steam offline when you are already verified to own the game and the game itself is not strictly proposed as online only?

Lot's of corpo-corrective talk around my topic but still no direct answers. I don't need steam to load in the background that also has an offline mode and for which I have already verified for online. 30-day token like battle.net for D2R, fine. Other than that no. So why does it still have to launch? Is it scrubbing certain data offline to upload once I am online again?

Because one could take that 'verified' offline copy and distribute it around illegally, for starters

The only reason I can't delete this thread now is because it has already been shadow-banned, probably from the start.
