Why compare other platforms to Steam?
no it clearly isn't as in i don't want my accounts to be locked to the same account for a year to be an issue, this is just a feature for an individual Period.
edit: as in family sharing for those want to share with family and friends can have their slots while individuals can have their own freedom to play with themselves only
cause that's how real life works?,,,,you're here to troll?
On another thread you wrote.
My question therefore has both validity and relevance based on your previous post.
Blame the users who constantly abuse the family share for the new restrictions.
Also, the games that are part of the share program are only doing so because the devs/pubs allow the game to be in the program. Steam only makes the offer, they cannot force a dev to add their game to the family share program.
okay listen bro i'm not gonna repeat myself over and over so understand that i only want to use family sharing for others while game sharing for me, i already use more then 5 accounts on xbox game sharing and last thing i want is getting locked out of changing an account cause of steam's silly year cool down. Also understand that what you're calling abuse is what most steam users and even steam staff were perfectly fine with as intended audience is the same as actual audience. the problem didn't exist but functioned as a nice side grade to get rid of a feature all together. It does nothing but add complication so i DO NOT CARE FOR FAMILY SHARING IN THIS THREAD.
This suggestion is merely for gaming sharing on one's main pc and that's it, if you for some reason don't like this then understand there are million others who do, not interested in a flame war, just leaving my suggestion which you can edit however you like for example adding limited amount of game share accounts, each account requiring authorization from main account every time you switch and so on.
Until Valve implements further limitations to prevent abuse until it really works only for people living in the household as Valve intended it to be.
WHY DON'T YOU PEOPLE JUST LISTEN TO WHAT I WRITE ALREADY,
this is about gaming sharing on one's main pc for only personal use, you can edit my suggestion however you like for example each shared account has to have 10 dollars spent on it. This is about one person having multiple online personas and gaming states PERIOD. Please read my other comments as i'm sick of writing the same paragraphs over and over
I think they're talking about something more like Miis, where there are multiple "accounts" but they're all tied to the physical console so they can't be used for playing multiple games simultaneously.
It's an interesting thought, but I doubt it's something workable on the PC since that is an open ended system whilst consoles are closed systems which makes tying things to a specific piece of hardware much easier. I think many people fail to realize that simple difference.
Not to mention the fact that a Steam account is designed to be usable on more than one system.
Something like Miis has to be implemented by every game separately anyway, it's just that there's a centralized system for "naming" the saves with pictures of faces.
If a game wants to let you have multiple saves, it will already do that on PC.
