Valve should Aquire FromSoftware by Aquiring the Parent Company Kaokawa
In my humble opinion and looking at Sony Track Record, they are a horrible publisher and wall great works behind horrible networks, and have been partaking in very anti consumer practices.

I would be very grateful is Steam who have historically been very in touch with the consumer and an industry leader in terms of self investment and leading the way to a fair stable and transparent market place could square away some money and acquire exceptionally talented devs and talent from these studios.

After what happened with helldivers 2 and Sony as a publisher I'm not confident in these huge conglomerates with conflicting values. I believe it is worthy to acquire Fromsoft even though the company has matured to a platform focus.

No. Steam is a service platform. Valve is a gaming company that currently runs Steam, and develops a game or two on the side. They do not need to be yet another conglomerate like Sony, Microsoft, or EA buying up studios just because some random Joe Schmo gamer is upset at another publisher.

Oh and:

Why? So that Valve can do to Fromsoftware that they did to Campo Santo? If the choice between Valve or Sony owning Fromsoftware, its better for Sony to own them because they would stay working on games and actually release games, where as with Valve the company would be dissolved and we won't see any game from them ever again.

Valve is where creativity and individuality of a studio goes to die.

They're a Japanese company like Sony, which is why they're in talks. Most don't lile to be acquired by Western companies.

Nah. Seeing Soulsborne games die would be incredibly funny.

Ah! Yes let's conveniently forget that Sony Japan Studio co-developed the original Demon's Souls on PS3 and Bloodborne on PS4 with FromSoftware.

Meh, FromSoft is overrated. Plus as others said, Valve isn't a good company for creative talent in game development.

I agree with the second point in this post.

FromSoftware probably isn't even the reason Sony wants to purchase the mother company.
They're just the most well-known brand in the west that falls under the company, which is why press agencies like Reuters attached to that name.

The reality is that mother company Kadokawa is a major conglomerate dealing in gaming; movies; books; manga; and anime. They're like a Japanese small-time Disney.

And it's probably more the market segments other than gaming, what Sony wants them for.
