Heck no, we already have enough curators around that junk post just to get awards and other stuff. Heck even before there was awards they there was a bunch of curators posting junk.
If you want to be a curator then be one. You should not need an incentive of money to do it. IF you are good, you might be picked up as a games reporter or something for some website and get paid that way. If you have a large enough following on youtube or some other site like that you will get paid anyway, so no need for Valve to step in.
We don't need the spam and the even junk curators that we'll get if Valve hands out money to people.
They can already ask for money through other means.
Valve doesn't need to have this type of incentive to get people on the largest storefront for PC games because the vast majority of PC games are already on Steam.
Referral link spam is not what Steam needs.
