Pride flags should be included in the free steam emojis.
I'd love to use the trans flag on my profile, sadly pride flag emojis are rare and very overpriced on the community market.

Alright now you're just being stupid, it's pointless to argue with someone like you.

Not agreeing with you does not make my responses stupid especially when all this boils down to you not wanting to pay and wanting emoji's to be free for the LGBT community.

if you believe it is good for the "community" then that community includes everyone who is not LGBT but who are also hetero, short, fat, thin etc, after all your suggestion, idea should benefit everyone who is part of the Steam community not just a select group.

Should people not be paid for emojis? They should but you want them for free.

I am hetero and you do not see me using that as an excuse to get free emoji's nor using it to state it would be good for the hetero community.

Pay or not is a choice you have to make.

Minorities sometimes need support. The last thing they need is the majority getting on their their high horse about it.

That only incentivises the maintenance of 'minority status'. As opposed to normalization.

I think making pride flag emojis widely available to all steam users is exactly what you'd call normalization

Normalization would basically result in the opposite. You would have no need for Pride flags since Pride flag. You don't have an 'I have two arms' flag do you? Or do you think there should be 'Straight pride' parades, and 'Hetro pride' flags, though that should probably be 'Hetero-Trans' flag I suppose.

The only ones getting on their high horse are those who play the minority card.

Should the LGBT community get items for free while the rest of us pay?

Should other groups be excluded? What about those with disabilities but are not LGBT?
Every steam user would get the pride flags, not only LGBT users. How would that even work?

I don't think you understand that straight people aren't oppressed and don't have to be normalized.

Making emoji's for differing disabilities, height, shape, likes, dislikes etc would normalise it but no you only want free emoji's for the LGBT community making it be very selective and fragmenting the community you claim would have a positive impact by giving free emoji's to the LGBT community only.

So you agree that normalization means no parades, no flags, no special treatment or considerations.

What is a pride flag?

A pride flag is any flag that represents a segment or part of the LGBT community. Pride refers to the notion of gay pride. Pride is not inclusive of those who are Heterosexual or Asexual.

You thread is about Pride Flags - https://ibb.co/R4ztxns

You also specifically referenced one group in the quote below and you definitely did not include everyone in that quote.

They would be a great feature for LGBT members of the steam community!

Buy why free pride flags?

Why not free flag emotes for every nationality?
For every region or every town?

Or free badge emotes for every single sports team of every single sport in the world?

We can't just have endless basic emotes for every characteristic every human being in the world decides is the defining part of their identity, it's too much.

I think that flags and parades are part of making being LGBT normal. If we just stopped showing people who we are and that we as a community exist LGBT would only become more of a taboo.

Being a fan of a sports team is not the same as being LGBT, it's a really weird comparison that's completely irrelevant to my idea.

How? It's basically something that those outside the group should not have/do by your own statement.

It was one thing when it was a matter of raising awareness. But now I don't think anyone is *not* aware. So no now it is just a special in group only thing that maintains the status of 'abnormality'.

If we just stopped showing people who we are and that we as a community exist LGBT would only become more of a taboo.

Those thinsg are about as non-taboo as they are going to get.
Whwn the community stops doing the whole 'We're different, abnd we're special' thing then the community will cross that final hurdle and be seen as normal.

That's how it worked for interracial marriages after all.

I don't agree, being openly transgender online leads to a lot of hate. A lot of hate from people that are very misinformed about the LGBT community, making people aware and inspiring them to do more research will lead to more acceptance.
