Your choice to pay or not.
Others believe 60 bucks is expensive for a game and that Valve should follow Epic and pay developers to give games away for free but Valve does not do that as developers are free to choose which platform/s they want to release their games on.
Personally I think it's rather good that Steam only has a few neutral free emoticons. If people want to use other ones, they can purchase them in the community market or points shop if available.
There are loads of various people in the community. They all would want emoticons related to them to be free. One group isn't more special than another.
Plus! the standard unicode emojis work in steam as they do on browsers, twitter, phones, facebook, etc.

so at least you have those two to use for free. But i know there's others/more you can buy on the Steam Community Market.
You are the one who brought up "price". You are the one who does not want to pay. You are the one who wants it for free as others want games for free - making it relevant.

Again you do not want to pay yet use the LGBT community as an excuse.
Should people not be paid for emojis? They should but you want them for free.
I am hetero and you do not see me using that as an excuse to get free emoji's nor using it to state it would be good for the hetero community.
Pay or not is a choice you have to make.
