Character limit in reviews should be removed.
How i can fully review game and share my opinion if i am hitting character limit almost always and i need to cut out something from my reviews and sometimes even skip formatting because of the same reason but at the same time reviews like 0/10, terrible game or 10/10 are ok? There should be required character count not limit.

You do realize that pretty much nobody is going to read a user review that long. Most people just want the pros, cons, and a summarized final opinion.

Minimum character count is easily defeated by saying the same thing repeatedly; copy/pasting.

8k is more than enough, it's a review, not a book report. If you make them too long, people will just thumbs down it and it'll be buried among the reviews. It's best to get to the point, the "meat" of why a game is, or is not, recommended.

Make your own site. Applying for a job at the gaming press. If you can write more than 8000 chars surely you can think of options?

An in-depth lengthy (semi)pro review is not the intent of a customer review section on a store.

That said, I'm not opposed to them doubling or tripling the char count. If people want to waste their time, let them.

But i need to explain why i think that way, give examples etc. back when i was writing small reviews(i also post my reviews on other sites) i had alot of complains that my reviews are useless because nothing is explained, there is no examples, nothing is described etc. and some of my reviews are written they have thumbs up and received awards.

Plenty of people can explain themselves just fine in 8000 chars. You might want to look into concise writing explanations and exercises. More isn't necessarily better.

Make a youtube channel, write an article on a site, start a blog.

Almost no one is going to read something of that length, unless they really want to, but it's unlikely. Reviews on Steam are more to-the-point of positive, negative, and why.

If you can hit the character limi You're probably rambling. Edit your review. Cut outt the needless fluff. or post itt on your own blog or something.

Before i post or try to post my review i always read them multiple times, edit them, cut out needless stuff etc only things that i am doing on Steam before i post review i check allow comments, yes or no(recommend or not) and small formatting i add bold text to category of things i want to write about for example Story and characters and then i am writting below same with other things like graphics, gameplay etc. but sometimes there is no space even for that.

You might want to rethink what you write in your review. For example in your Horizon review the part about plot and characters contains a hell of a lot of spoilers and is basically a summary with a lot of stuff that is better suited on a wiki. It's very questionable that all is needed. Also the intro contains quite some information that might not be considered needed on a Steam review and the gameplay part goes into details that might be considered too much as well.

While it's ok to want to write that much, I do agree with others that Steam reviews in general might not be your target audience.
For me it looks as if you want to describe the game in detail, when you should simply be describing your global experience and opinion of the game.

Brevity is the soul of wit.

There's gonna be some limit in length. And there's always going to be someone who needs that length to be just a little bit longer.

But I say art comes from adversity.
Extreme Feb 14, 2022 @ 9:57pm
I always try to have as few spoilers as possible but also tell people something about story and characters to let them decide if story and characters sounds for them interesting or not same with gameplay etc. But based on everyone opinions here i will try to made short version of my future reviews on Steam i like to review games and i like detailed reviews and dont like reviews like "10/10", "good game" or "bad game avoid" but i will try to make next of them shorter.

I mean I managed to do this entire review without hitting the 8k cap and gave my rather fair review, no spoilers and the needed details rather well.

You're supposed to write a review not a novel.
