Precisely this. It makes so much more sense to have it this way. Heck, even Discord has it this way.
Odd you want an auto-decline for all friend requests while also wanting to be able to add friends, after all your own requests would be considered unsolicited.
Discord and Facebook both have options to set it so that your profile can only accept friend requests from friends of friends, or to decline all friend requests altogether. Steam should have the same.
I'm also respectful enough to ask people before I add them; others are not.
Why is this a problem suggestion to you again?
Irrelevant as you did not mention either Discord nor Facebook in your opening post for the suggestion.
You want to decline all friend requests as per the thread title, yet want to send friend requests, which is hypocritical, because you deem your own requests as solicited.
Irrelevant. This isn't an argument worth having, because the clarified position was made in the second post in this thread.
Now shoo; the adults are talking.
By that logic, the OP also didn't say anything about sending other people friend requests in their opening post, so where are you even getting that from? So what you're saying is also irrelevant, then.
Derailing a thread is also against the rules.
Well, OP did say "If I wish to add someone, I will on my end" which you can assume is probably meant to be that they would send other people friend requests.
But still, I don't think it's hypocritical. It's a bad argument but not for that reason. If adding the ability to automatically decline or disable friend requests is hypocritical, then that's like saying having a private profile is hypocritical because you can still view other people's profiles if they are public.
The clarified position should be in the opening post.
Oops, yeah, I misread that. I agree with you, though. By that same logic private profiles shouldn't be able to view public profiles.
Report the post.
Secondly the post is on topic.
As for "did not ever say".
And finally odd you chose to ignore post #7 and the final words while posting "insulting other users" especially when your post is #9.
