Option to auto-decline all friend requests
If I wish to add someone, I will on my end. I do not like unsolicited friend requests, and I assume a lot of other users do not either.

Why isn't this a feature yet?

Yup, this is one of those things that should have been a no trainer.

It also has the added benefit of reducing bot spam requests and scammer requests. It can also beva tool against people trying to friend you to see if you have them blocked.

True, I did miss that part of the post or at least misunderstood it my first time reading the thread. Eidolon already pointed that out.

However, that user also made a good point. Users are not forced to set their profile to public if they want to view other profiles which are public. So the point about hypocrisy here doesn't seem to track with how other parts of Steam already work.

And even that aside, your assumption that all of OP's friend requests would also be unsolicited is still false. It's completely possible for people to agree outside of Steam (such as in real life, or on another platform) to add each other. After all that is probably what the Steam friend code is intended to be used for. People can also agree to adding one another even on Steam, either on one user's profile comments or even in-game chat.

I understand you might be concerned that this suggestion might be confusing for other users, such as those who have aggressive and unfriendly attitudes and therefore do not get any friend requests to begin with and as a result are also unfamiliar with how the friend system works or how people might agree to add each other in a "solicited" manner.

And finally odd you chose to ignore post #7 and the final words while posting "insulting other users" esoecially wgen your post is #9.
Maybe you are not familiar with how this forum works. It's not a live chat and I don't see new posts until I refresh the page. Your post was the newest one at the time that I had already begun writing a reply, and did not see the one that followed until after I had already sent it.

But besides that, you can always

I am in favor of this suggestion. It's been suggested before many times and I see no issue with it.

Well said.

By the way, this thread is a perfect example of how certain users on this forum only come here to derail every suggestion and disagree for the sake of disagreement.

Hmm... I never understood why this isn't a thing here yet. After all nobody is forced to like unwanted interaction with complete randos. Such block/decline function would be welcome.

I mean nothing against this idea, just make sure if its done there is a log visible to users and the OPTION to still be notified it was sent.

Some will want to be notified they were sent a friend request and it was auto closed so it should be included if ever done.

Makes more sense to have an option that greys out the add to friend button if you don't want to accept it and they get a message that this user is not accepting friend requests
