The Points Shop Discussion Thread

There's quite a few nifty things that we are able to obtain currently using our Steam points, from profile upgrades to badges to Steam Deck intros and the like. However, I think that it is time that we evaluate what else could be added to the Steam Points shop, what would be interesting to list there, and what else points could be used for.

The reason I am making this thread is that I find that I am not using the points shop as much; I have the Steam profile background I want, and I only tend to visit the points shop now once per season to get a badge, then ignore it.

Of course, I do not want the points shop to contain anything of real monetary value; that would lead to disastrous results both on the forums and in terms of purchases/fraud-related incidents on Steam due to the nature of how Steam points do work.

Still, let's discuss how the points shop could be improved, what could be added, and what other incentives can be put down for people to return to it.

I think it got everything it needs? All the cosmetics are there, you can buy the badges that change half a year and if they ever make new ways of customizing profiles or anything, they can add stuff for that in the points shop aswell. Right now I am not really missing anything I could think of and I still got quite a few items I'd like to buy at some point. I want to use my points for awards once I've gotten everything I want from the pointsshop, but that still seems far away haha
