About the currency used in Macau Steam store

Macau has close geographic and monetary ties to Hong Kong. The Macanese pataca (MOP) exchanges with the Hong Kong dollar (HKD) at a rate close to 1:1.03, and HKD is also widely used in Macau.

However, Steam has included Macau in its USD region. I understand this is because Steam hasn't specifically designated a region for Macau, but is it possible to include Macau in the HKD region?

Steam uses USD for any region where the local currency is not supported.

Its irrelevant that the MOP is backed by HKD. As the prices of games are determined by a per region basis, and as such the fact that the MOP is legally obligated to be exchanged at a specific rate to HKD is irrelevant

Any more than since the HKD is pegged to the USD that HKD prices would be identical to USD.
